Ôdelice!

Celebrating Shanghai’s success (2 successful chains), Ôdelice set up roots in the popular food district of Hong Kong; Wan Chai. Neighbors with the popular Butcher’s Club, Ôdelice brings a more casual and simple dining experience to Landale Street.

Modern, chill vibes fill the space, though their hanging lights were set too low; blocking your view and disturbing a good conversation. Ôdelice attempts to appeal to a wider audience with a modern design and simple menu that includes most French staples.

Hot sandwiches, salads, crêpes, galettes, waffles and pasta, fill the menu. Set at reasonable prices and offering less classical galettes like the smoked duck and foie gras.

Not necessarily authentic but not offensive, Ôdelice‘s offerings were certainly not memorable. Their galettes are a far cry from the nearby La Crêperie on queens road, though dessert crêpes showed more promise.

A valiant effort by Ôdelice, but their menu and decor mostly showed a lack of personality. Especially with a growing number of French establishments in the area, Ôdelice desperately needs to bring their “A-game” to compete with internationally renowned chains like Le Pain Quotidian, Kaiser and the local favorite Passion.
