Hei House 囍碟

Malaysian Fusion: The two-story Hei House is situated in jazzy Lee Tung Avenue in Wan Chai, and serves a unique brand of fusion-y Malaysian fare with cocktails to go along.

Look & Feel: A bright red arch leads into a swank, trendy space with faux brick walls. On the ground floor, you’ll find a casual bar, and upstairs there’s a dining area with bamboo-steamer-and-painting-covered walls.

On the Menu: There are a few separate food menus at Hei House. More generic Southeast Asian “tapas” like lemongrass chicken wings ($78) and Malacca suckling pig ($188) are available from afternoon ’til late. Meanwhile, the lunch and dinner menus offer a mix of Malaccan-Malaysian and Singaporean dishes like bak kut teh, Malacca-style Hainan chicken rice, char kway teow and laksa. On the drinks side, there are pages of cocktails, wines, spirits and mocktails to choose from.

Great For: Happy hour, group dinners, something fun.

FYI: Regal Power, the group behind Hei House, also runs Cha Sat in Kowloon Bay.
