Pak Loh Chiu Chow Restaurant
Visiting relatives here in Kowloon, we had a delicious dinner at this very nice upscale restaurant. I am not familiar with the specifics but what I am told, is that this style food comes from Eastern Guangdong Province. The food and service was excellent. My palate is traditional cantonese style cooking so I have never had this style food before. There was a delightful oyster and egg fried pancake that was delicious. A cold steamed fish with this unusual dipping sauce was very different and also wonderful.
The marinated sliced duck with liver and tofu was out of this world. The liver was like eating a delicate pate' which was very good; normally chewy, this sliced liver had no strong iron taste but smooth.
I enjoyed this style of cooking which is not available anywhere in the United States.
