Korea House

This place was recommended to us by a korean friend and it looked quite promising when we first went in.

We've ordered the seafood pancake which is about HKD$130 and it was good sized pancake although there were more spring onions than the seafood... it should probably be called the spring onion pancake instead of seafood... We also ordered the beef with the special house sauce for HKD$130 and that was like the ones that we have tried in other Korean place, not bad at all. One last thing that we ordered that we truly regret was the one soup with the picture of loads of vermicelli and some unknown items that we thought looks like (and the mandarin sounded like internal organs)... it costs HKD$330 for a small portion but we were left pondering why there are lunch meat (in a can) and the sausages in the soup with Kimchi, rice cakes, tofu and also the soy bean?? Some of the ingredients are truly not Korean related but more local flavour inspired... and unlike the picture, there was NO vermicelli at all... truly disappointed... even though it tastes like all the Korean soup base but still... strange... we didn't eat any of the meat...

The entree were small plates of Kim Chi, sprouts, two pieces of tofu, radish & carrot salad, spinach and the cauliflower & prawn. All a bit too salty and the vegetables were ones that I would not buy for home use as they all tastes a bit too old and chewy...

Overall, we didn't wowed by this place and left feeling a bit overpriced with the ingredients that they were using... Will we go back again?? Well, the answer is most likely to be negative for now.
