Shatin Inn 沙田茵餐廳
I come here sometimes, simply because it's different and easy. It's one of the very few places in HK you can drive up to and grab a seat outside to eat, in a decent local setting. The satay is their flagship dish, that many people purchase to try out. It's good, but at 144 HKD for 10 sticks, it needs to be.
Most of the food is average I would say. It's supposed to be Indonesian, but their Nasi Goreng and Mee Goreng are HK takes on the dishes and nowhere near what they should be. My main gripe is the service. I visited today and waited almost an hour for a plate of fried rice. I would have scored lower if it wasn't that the place is a long-standing institution, unique and worth a try at least once.
