Guo Fu Lou

Guo Fu Lou locates in the baseman of Empire hotel in Wan Chai has been recommended from my friend to give it a try. Therefore, again family weekend lunch we decided to go for dim sum. Verdict? Highly recommended! Cosy environment with decent Dim Sum lunch menu with reasonable price. I particular want to highlight two dishes that draws my strong impression. The first one is "pan fried bun served in iron pot". Absolute exquisite taste with a touch of Chinese cooking wine pour on top of the red hot iron pot before serving. The second one is "scallop chinese pancake". This is also a very impressive dim sum dish that very hard to pull off. We knew that it is going to be great when it is served as the golden color pancake. You have to eat it right away to enjoy the perfect texture that stimulate your appetite. I have been to many other michelin Chinese restaurants in hk serving similar dim sum dish that could not pull this off. They were either too soft in texture or flavor being flat and blend.

Very nice overall that makes us want to come back to try out for other choices.
