Cheung Hing Kee Shanghai Pan-fried Buns Lock Road
Two words: tasty and cheap. I love their pan-fried buns! I was about to leave Hong Kong without tryingthis place but a new friend that I met there told me to give it a try 'cause it was worth it, and so I did. Cheung Hing See Shangai was next to the hostel where I was staying, so I decided to try the pan-fried buns on a night where a typhoon was supposed to hit us and we couldn't walk on the street and eat out. I'm just so glad I made that decision. I'm still not sure whether they deserve a Micheline star (I don't the what's the standard Chinese restaurants to receive Michelin stars) or not, and the super cheap price ($5 USD) doesn't make you think that their food is "prestigious", but in terms of taste those pan-fried buns were amazing! I tried the meat and shrimp, and they were both delicious. The meat pan-fried buns also have a lot of juice of meat inside... yummmm! Just remember not to bite them immediately 'cause they're super hot.
