House of Commons

House of Commons is a café at Owen Road, nestled in the Farrer Park area, serving up the best espresso-based coffees and Archipelago craft beers. This little cafe was borne out of a couple’s dream to set up their own business. They both left their corporate jobs on this crazy journey and traveled to Sydney, Australia, where they trained to become certified baristas. Upon their return to Singapore, they set up House of Commons.

Walk into our living room as we desire to create a comfortable and homely spot where all are welcome to enjoy a great cup of coffee, artisanal craft beers or a glass of wine and of course, great company and conversations. We are a small shop and run the place ourselves. You will often see Raj, the owner as barista, cook, waiter and host. Many of our customers come back just to have a chat with Raj. You could call him our official mascot 🙂

Our coffees are deep, rich and aromatic that leave no bitter after taste or an upset, nauseated stomach! Expect a strong cup of coffee that we know will have you coming back for more! Pair that coffee with our unique blends of kaya (a coconut and egg curd spread, for those of you not familiar with Singapore local lingo). Kaya flavours range from the traditional, to exotic blends such as calamansi kaya, caramel sea salt kaya or pandan vanilla kaya. We haven’t forgotten our non-coffee friends and have a selection of teas and milkshakes too!
