Yayoi (ยาโยอิ)

Meiji era in Japan (about 125 years ago) is when the western culture flows into Japan. Mr. Tamichiro Shioi who have just returned from his chef study from France initiated 'Yayoi' very first branch in Tokyo in an area known as Kayabachō. The menu served only cost 1 yen per set. Furthermore, Mr. Tamichiro's attention to details and cooking skills made his shop become well-known in an instant. 'Yayoi' attracted popular people and celebrities such as Mr. Junichiro Tanizaki (famous writer) and even Prime Minister of that time. As time passed by, Mr. Suayugi Shioi stepped up to continue his grandfather's business. In present, 'Yayoi' has over 200 branches in Japan and aiming to reach 500 branches in the near future.
