Lung Kee Wonton (龍記招牌雲吞)

We had a list of noodle shops we wanted to visit in Hong Kong last month, and set out to explore a couple of them one morning. As the valet called us a cab at our hotel, he asked where we wanted to go, so I showed him our list. He looked at it and shook his head. “You’re not going to the best noodle shop.”, he told us matter-of-factly, as he turned over our piece of paper and wrote down a name and address, which he knew by heart. “My favorite!”, he said, as he handed the note back to us. As he was about my size, I could tell he knew food, and that we could trust his taste buds. And that’s how we ended up at Lung Kee Wonton Mee in Kowloon…
