Mrs Tang Cafe
Took a queue number from Mrs Tang's Cafe 华嫂冰室, was told the wait would be approx 45 mins, so passed the time by covering parts of the 屏山Heritage Trail.
Worked up an appetite and ordered these 3 lovelies - sweetish, crusty boluo bao 菠萝包 with egg, sliced tomatoes and a generous slab of butter (delish); corned beef bun with cheese (a tad salty); and a sinful ham and egg mayo sandwich (yum). Typical HK 茶餐厅 fare but I can see why this way out place draws in the crowds.
Personal preference - the beef sandwich at 新香园 at Sham Shui Po is still my fave.
Note - if you are coming on a weekend or a public holiday, expect long waits, and bring the mozzie spray! They give out queue numbers, but note the place closes from 1-2pm so they will stop giving out queue numbers at around 12pm, and start issuing queue numbers again at around 1:30pm.
