Q1 Vietnamese Breads & Dessert (Q1 第一郡)

Had read about this place in one of the expat rags as a place to get Vietnamese sandwiches. It didn't disappoint.

I got the regular "banh mi" sandwich and an avocado shake, though I was tempted by the noodle bowls others were having. The banh mi was good, stuffed with meet and pickles (though it didn't have lard or mayonnaise). The avocado shake was closer to what you'd get in Vietnam than what you'd get in Vietnamese-American places in the U.S. (i.e., more avocado, less sugar, probably uses milk rather than ice cream or sweetened condensed milk).

Desserts must be good because they were sold out!

It's also in a great working-class neighborhood, so a fun place to walk around.
