HUAY KWANG THAI KITCHEN | To the folks behind Huay Kwang Thai Kitchen, the key to good mookata lies in the marinated meat. One of the bosses’ wife hails from Thailand, so recipes for the sauces and meat marinades are authentically Thai, with close to 90 per cent of the ingredients for the all important marinades coming directly from the Land of Smiles. They also believe in using charcoal stoves to bring out the best of their marinated meats, which include favourites like pork belly, marinated liver, tom yum chicken and black pepper pork. Mookata ingredients are available a la carte, in sets ($39.90 for 2-3pax, $69.90 for 5-6pax) and in an all-you-can-eat buffet ($29.90 for adults and $14.90 for children). Come after 11pm and the buffet drops to a Happy Hour price of $25.90 per pax.
