Asra Indian Restaurant 相聚印度餐廳

We recently visited Asra for lunch and were pleased with our meal here. Located in the heart of the industrial area of Fo Tan, in the Sha Tin Galleria, this is a pretty good little restaurant for Indian cuisine.

They have lunch sets but we decided to order ala carte, choosing the Murgh Tikka Masala (HK$88) which was nicely prepared and well-spiced. The dish was served with proper tandoori chicken, not the pre-boiled chicken dumped in sauce like many Indian restaurant try to pull off in Hong Kong. It tasted nice with the Pilau rice (HK$42) and Butter Naan (HK$26) and made for a very good Indian lunch (rating 3.75 of 5).

We also tried the Mutter Paneer (HK$78) that was also good (rating 3.25 of 5) but not as solid as the Masala chicken dish. A good quality Gulab Jamun (HK$35) ended our pleasant lunch at Asra, one will be happy to repeat in the future.

Unfortunately this restaurant is quite far off the beaten path, located on Fo Tan Road, about 10 minute walk from the Fo Tan MTR Station. This makes it rather inconvenient for most to visit. However, for those in HK for some time or others staying in the Sha Tin area, who are craving for good Indian, it might be an option for you.
