This shophouse eatery preserves the nostalgia of 1940s Singapore with its antique Peranakan-style furniture, and pays homage to Singapore’s multicultural make-up with its unique menu of Indonesian, Peranakan and Thai dishes. Signature items here include the whimsical-sounding Bumbu Salad ($8.80) made with shrimp, century eggs, onions, cashew nuts and lemongrass; and the Gado-Gado ($8.80) with homemade peanut sauce. Also popoular at the 60-seater are its seafood dishes like the Butter Oat Soft Shell Crab ($17.80) and Crispy Baby Squid ($12.80).
