Jing Hua Xiao Chi

Way back in 1989, Mr. and Mrs. Han opened this small shop, a simple place for people to come together and enjoy the Shanghai classics that they loved to make. Singapore born and bred, Mr. Han tweaked these recipes to suit the local palate, until he ended up with a slim and trim menu of delicious dishes, while Mrs. Han handmade the dumplings, noodles and sweets daily. Serving what many of those in the know consider the island’s best Xiao Long Bao, as well as hard to find dishes like “Chinese Pizza,” the shop’s historic Neil Road location now sees eager lines of diners regularly forming outside. Stop by a hot tea or a cold beer and a basket of top-ranked Xiao Long Bao, Gyoza and Zha Jiang Noodles, then top it all off with the renowned Red Bean Pancakes and Sweet Osmanthus Flower Rice Ball Soup.
