Dim Sum Square (聚點坊)

Dim sum is one of those things you MUST try when in Hong Kong. It would be like visiting England and not having fish and chips if you missed the opportunity. There is an abundant variety available in the city, so don’t be daunted by the vast menus and crowded Sundays. You can go to the expensive traditional Chinese restaurants where businessmen and families dine on Sundays, the 24 hour type where you may find a drunken party goer and elderly man dedicated to the art of tai chi dining side by side, or even the Michelin star variety where a long wait is mandatory. One of my favourites is around the corner from my apartment, and is the perfect pit stop for breakfast or lunch. Not as fancy as the family dim sum brunches we usually attend, but definitely hits the spot when you are craving a casual atmosphere. The food at Dim Sum Square is fresh, and easy to order on their English, picture laden menu. You rarely have to wait, and it’s ok to bring your own drinks, so grab a venti americano before arriving if you prefer coffee over traditional Chinese tea. I recommend the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaves and their non-traditional BBQ pork buns.
